The cybercell of the city police nabbed a person in connection with misuse of a government email id to get access to personal data. An FIR for the same was registered on February 10.  The accused is identified as Sagar Lakhar, 22, a resident of Pindwada, Rajasthan. He was apprehended on Sunday.

According to a complaint by constable Ashwinkumar Virjibhai, unidentified persons used an email id for cybercrime cell with the gujarat.gov.in domain to get the personal data from multiple persons. Technical analysis of the id indicated that someone had accessed it without authorization and got access to data for possible monetary gains. The cybercell officials registered a complaint under sections of IPC and IT Act.
