| Updated: April 19, 2022 15:39

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor held a five-hour-long meeting with top Congress leaders such as Priyanka Gandhi, Ambika Soni, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala at 10 Janpath on Monday. This comes amid reports of Kishor joining the party ahead of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This was the second meeting held by Congress with Kishor in three days. Significantly, on Saturday, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti reached 10 Janpath when the first meeting was in progress.

According to sources, talks are being held to chalk out a strategy for the 2024 general elections. Congress party has also asked poll strategist Prashant Kishor to join the party. This came after PK’s detailed presentation on Lok Sabha elections during the meeting held at Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s residence on Saturday.

According to insiders, “Prashant Kishor may join Congress. He will not be used as a consultant, rather he has been asked to join the party and work as a leader. He gave a detailed presentation about the roadmap and organisational changes needed in the run up to the 2024 Lok Sabha poll.”

It is being speculated that Kishor’s gameplan will help Congress concentrate on 370 seats while, forging alliances in the rest. Kishor in his detailed presentation had reportedly stated that Congress should fight alone in Bihar, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh but form alliances in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and even Bengal.
