Prashant Kishor stated on Tuesday that he was involved in 11 elections between 2011 and 2021, but only lost the one in Uttar Pradesh in 2017 due to the Congress and that is the reason why he doesn’t want to work with the party ever again.
“From 2011 to 2021, I was involved in 11 elections and lost only one, which was with the Congress in Uttar Pradesh,” Kishor explained. He said that was the time when he decided never to work with the congress party ever again as they ruined his track record.
He served as the Congress-Samajwadi Alliance’s poll strategist in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, which the coalition lost.
Congress leaders are of such nature that they will go down and take everyone with them. “If I go (and join them) I’ll drown,” he said in an interview to NDTV.
On May 20, Kishor stated that the Congress’ three-day Chintan Shivir, or introspection meeting, held from May 13 to May 15, in Udaipur, had failed to produce meaningful results.
“In my opinion, it failed to achieve anything meaningful other than prolonging the status quo and giving the Congress leadership some breathing room, at least until the impending electoral rout in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh,” he wrote on Twitter.
Kishor announced in April that he will not join the Congress’s Empowered Action Group 2024. The group’s goal is to address the Congress’s political difficulties ahead of the 2024 General Assembly elections.
According to Kishor, the Congress party requires leadership and a united front to address its “deep-seated structural issues” through transformational reforms.
