The radio jockey who made Ahmedabad laugh, RJ Kunal’s father Ishwarbhai Walabhai Desai allegedly committed suicide, leaving a suicide note with his dead body near Janata Nagar railway crossing on Thursday. According to preliminary information by Sola High Court Police, Desai committed suicide on the railway track and an accidental death case has been registered by the police.
On January 21, 2016, Bhumi Desai, the first wife of RJ Kunal, committed suicide after two months of their marriage by jumping from the tenth floor of H Block of Sachin Tower on 100 feet road in Anandnagar. Bhumi had texted her friend Mitesh Soni before taking the extreme step.
During the time of this incident, Bhumi’s relatives claimed that some differences had cropped up between the couple during their Thailand trip. After that, she reportedly stopped living at Kunal’s place and was staying with her parents.
Subsequently, her parents alleged that Kunal provoked their daughter to commit suicide, as he had been harassing her for Rs 25 lakh dowry, to purchase a property in Ahemdabad. Based on her parent’s complaint, the police booked Kunal and his parents under IPC sections 306 (Abetment of suicide), 498(c) (domestic violence), 114 (Abettor present when an offence is committed), and sections 3 (giving or taking or abetting the giving or taking of dowry) and 7 (Cognizance of offences) of the Dowry Act.
Now, the police are reportedly exploring a piece of new information that Kunal’s former wife Bhumi Panchal’s family is responsible for the suicide of his father.
