Gandhi criticised the government’s policies, stating that only a handful of industrialists were benefiting at the expense of small traders.
The Congress leader took a strong stance on unemployment, criticizing the PM’s Agniveer scheme. He questioned its implementation, arguing that it does not suit the army’s desire for their soldiers to receive 4-5 years of training and a pension. He claimed that the Agniveer scheme is not favoured by the youth and that the funds once allocated for training pensions now go to a particular industrialist.
Gandhi shared the story of Dr. Ritu Singh, a PhD scholar from the Dalit community, who he said, was forced to sell pakodas due to the policies of the Modi government.
Promising change, Gandhi pledged that if his government comes to power, it would provide 30 lakh government jobs and a one-year guarantee on private and government jobs for youth who complete college. He also promised to give one lakh rupees, stop paper leaks, take strict action against it and implement the apprenticeship law, granting degree holders the right to apprenticeship.
Gandhi concluded his speech by emphasizing his party’s commitment to connecting people and accused the BJP of spreading hatred. He assured that the doors of banks would also open for the poor and that his government would create a fund of 5000 crores for the youth of India at district level.
