Rajasthan: Jaipur Literature Fest 2023 Begins With Unique Art Forms

The 16th annual Jaipur Literature Festival is hosted by The Hotel Clarks Amer. Earlier, Sushma Som, a vocalist from Karnataka, reverberated with her heartfelt melodic songs. The official commencement date is set for January 23. At the JLF festival, almost 400 speakers from around the world will take the stage.

Numerous famous people will take part, including International Booker Prize winner Gitanjali, writer and translator Daisy Rockwell, well-known author Deepti Kapoor, and Booker Prize winner Bernardine Evaristo.

The list of languages with speakers now contains a significant number of speakers of Rajasthani in addition to 21 Indian and 14 other languages. The Mahakumbh Literature Festival 2023 of Jaipur Literature gets underway today with Sushma Soma’s morning music on the front lawn and the initial session starting at 10 am there.

Shashi Tharoor, a Congress leader and a writer, has retained Namita Gokhale and Sanjoy Roy. At 2:00 pm today, two sessions will begin with Shashi Tharoor and Sumit Samos in the Mughal tent. JLF 2023 will concentrate on topics like agriculture, energy, geopolitics, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and relations between India and China.

The decor motif for JLF this year is “Utsav.” The programme for 2023 will place a strong emphasis on Rajasthani speakers. This literary Mahakumbh will display the hues of numerous languages. JLF features some of the top performers in the world. The festival’s co-directors, Namita Gokhale and William Dalrymple, as well as its producer, Sanjoy K., participated in the opening session.
