The Tokyo Olympics is all set to begin on 23rd July 2021. Athletes from different nations have started to arrive for the Tokyo Olympics. The news of several athletes testing Covid positive after arriving for the Olympics has been surfacing. So far, three positive cases from Tokyo have been reported.
This comes after a case linked to the Ugandan Olympic team was detected on Wednesday. The athlete’s coach has tested positive on arrival in Japan which was the very first positive case detected last week. After this, eight members of Uganda’s delegation for the Tokyo Olympics have been quarantined.
A member of the Serbian Olympic rowing team tested positive for Covid-19 on July 4. It was reported on Sunday by the Japanese agency Kyodo. The athlete was traveling with four other members who have been transferred to a facility near the airport.
