A 17-year-old, differently-abled girl from Surat was gang-raped by two men at Surat Railway Station on May 22. The Railway Police arrested the accused on Tuesday, May 24.
As per the police reports, the girl along with an 18-year-old had ran away. And to survive, they were doing odd jobs at the railway station after they ran out of money.
Two men who were working as cleaning staff at the Railway Station asked the 18-year-old to stand at the reservation centre at night if he wishes to earn extra money. In this greed, the youth did so.
As soon as the girl’s friend left, the incident took place. The workers took the girl to a room where she was gang-raped in turns. The next day, on May 23 when the girl’s friend returned she described the incident, after which they decided to file a complaint against both the accused.
Surat Railway Police took immediate action and got hold of the accused. They even confessed their crime.
