| Updated: October 19, 2022 20:11

Muharat trading takes place on the domestic stock exchange and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on the day of Diwali which is considered auspicious, as it marks the beginning of Samvat 2079. According to stock market tradition, the stock market will open for one hour for a particular hour.

BSE and NSE will conduct the once-in-a-year Diwali Muhurat trading on Monday from 6:15 to 7:15 pm.

While the market will be shut for normal trading to mark Diwali, the special trading window will be open for just one hour in the evening.

BSE said that the pre-opening session will be conducted from 6 pm-6.15 pm while the Lakshmi Poojan will be held at 3:30 pm at the bourse. This would be followed by an award distribution ceremony to top volume performers from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm.

BSE, has been practising this tradition for over six decades, will be conducting an online Lakshmi Poojan this year at 4.45 pm.

Topping up your portfolio on this auspicious day gives you a new positive vibe to your portfolio and your high conviction stocks,” said Divam Sharma, smallcase manager & Co founder, Green Portfolio, who makes token investments on most Muhurat trading days.
