As of Monday evening, 21.85 lakh people in Gujarat have received their booster dose of Covid vaccination. However, on the other hand, about 25 lakh people still haven’t gotten their second shot.

Gujarat has administered 5.21 crore first doses, taking the total coverage to 99% of the eligible population and 4.92 crore second doses, covering 94% of the eligible population.

The districts where the coverage of the first dose has remained poor are also lagging as far as the second dose is concerned.

The districts that have recorded low turnout in the first dose of vaccination are Botad and Amreli, with 73%, 77% and 78%, respectively.

All the municipal corporation areas have crossed 100% coverage of the first dose. Fourteen districts and municipal corporation areas have also achieved 100% coverage of the second dose.

On Monday, the Union government announced the start of vaccinations for the 12-14 age group from 16th March.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the state-wide program of coverage of corona vaccination for children in the age group of 12 to 14 years from Borij Primary School in Gandhinagar city with this vaccination of more than 26 lakh children between the ages of 12 to 14 years started on Wednesday.

At the vaccination center, CM Patel interacted with the health workers serving in this vaccination operation. He got the dosage details and applauded this commendable job done by health care workers in the state.
