Heavy rainfall lashed Gujarat on Tuesday and led to waterlogging in residential areas and flooding in underpasses and roads. Over 25mm of rain in Ahmedabad and it resulted into potholes and even brought normal life to a standstill. There were cars getting stuck in water, falling of trees and electric poles, short circuits and even collapsing of rain due to rain. With the rain, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s pre-monsoon plans also went down the drain. This monsoon season, there have been over 28 cave-ins in Ahmedabad.
Earlier, on July 17, the death toll rose to 54 due to rain-related incidents and over 14,000 people remained in temporary shelters.
The State Emergency Operation Center, Gandhinagar released data on the rainfall in various districts of Gujarat.
