Week Long Programme For CBI Law Officers Held In Rashtriya Raksha University

Over a dozen law officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation, India’s premier investigating agency, completed a week long capacity building programme on Friday.

The programme held in Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, is aimed at improving the overall conviction rate. 20 law officers of CBI attended the programme.

A first of its kind the training session was held after an MoU was signed between the RRU and CBI. 

During the week-long programme,  sessions were held on training on Polygraph and Brain mapping tests., cyber laws and as well as Money Laundering Act.

Apoorva Mathur, Assistant Director of the School of Security, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, RRU said “The law officers of the CBI comprising assistant public prosecutors and public prosecutors attended the programme aimed at improving the conviction rate with the help of modern and scientific techniques. The training session was divided into three tiers-relevant provisions of the law which come under the jurisdiction of CBI, cyber laws and digital forensics and technical sessions with visits to forensic laboratories to understand various deceptive techniques such as brain mapping and polygraph tests,”

 Apoorva Mathur explained that the officers have to keep themselves abreast of law and crimes. This was the first time that a session was held up train prosecutors instead of investigators.

 Dr A K Tripathi, Director, School of Security, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, RRU said, “Senior public prosecutors of CBI were trained by RRU for a week. They interacted with a dozen resource persons including retired judges, academicians and lawyers.”
