Women’s Entrepreneurship Surges to 26% in 2023: Report

| Updated: March 9, 2024 16:53

Women across India are increasingly venturing into the world of entrepreneurship, driven by a desire for financial autonomy and empowerment. Despite their entrepreneurial zeal and innovative concepts, many women encounter challenges when seeking investor trust and financial backing.

According to Yeshasvini Ramaswamy, CEO of Great Place To Work, India, the upward trend in women’s representation within the Best Workplaces is remarkable. The percentage has risen from 21% in 2021 to an impressive 26% in 2023, underscoring the transformative strides toward gender inclusivity.

While India has made significant headway in cultivating diverse work environments, Ramaswamy emphasizes the need to listen actively beyond socio-economic barriers. She calls for addressing the specific needs of female employees and fostering an environment that genuinely empowers them.
