Akshay Kumar Tests Positive For COVID; Forced To Miss Cannes 2022

In what can only be a disappointing news for Bollywood fans world over, Akshay Kumar will have to miss walking the red carpet at Cannes 2022, as he has been tested positive for Covid-19. The superstar took to twitter last night to relay the news.

Akshay said that he was excited to be part of the delegation that represented Indian Cinema on the global festival, but that is not going to be case any more. He was going to be the part of team led by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur.  

The 75th Cannes Film Festival promises to be a spectacular event for Indians. Big names from Bollywood will walk the length on the inaugural day, May 17.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, celebrities R. Madhavan, AR Rahman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pooja Hegde and Nayanthara, as well as CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and music composer Ricky Rej are expected to attend the prestigiuos film festival to be held between May 17 to May 26.

Meanwhile, Akshay is awaiting the release of his much-anticipated movie, Prithviraj, in June. He stars opposite Manushi Chhillar in the movie. The film is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai’s epic poem Prithviraj Raso.
