Arvind Kejriwal To Visit Poll-Bound Gujarat For Next Two Days

| Updated: July 2, 2022 19:00

Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party National Convener, has scheduled a two-day visit to poll-bound Gujarat. The AAP supremo will arrive in Gujarat on Sunday to hold a discussion on free electricity. He will also administer the oath to newly-appointed office bearers, as per a party leader.

The Delhi Chief Minister has a jam-packed schedule for his two-day visit to Ahmedabad. He will hold meetings with senior leaders of AAP and interact with party members.

AAP intends to give tough competition in Gujarat Assembly elections for 182 seats in a BJP-ruled state. Isudan Gadhvi, National Joint Secretary of AAP, said, “Kejriwal will arrive at Ahmedabad airport at 3 PM on Sunday. He will administer an oath to 7,500 newly-appointed office bearers at a ceremony at 4 PM. Further, the workers will take a pledge to work whole-heartedly for the party. At last, Arvind Kejriwal will encourage workers for the upcoming Assembly election.”

‘Free Electricity Campaign’

He told the media that the office bearers were appointed due to the dissolution of the Gujarat organisation structure. Gadhvi asked, “The people are suffering due to the rise in inflation. Thus, the Gujarat AAP has launched a free electricity campaign. If people in Delhi and Punjab can get free electricity, why not Gujarat?”

Two weeks ago, the Kejriwal-led party launched a Gujarat-wide movement demanding free electricity for domestic consumers from the BJP government. He informed the media that Arvind Kejriwal will hold the meeting on Monday, July 4. During the meeting, the party will also discuss the guarantee card or election manifesto for the Gujarat Assembly elections in December 2022.

Gadhvi criticised the ruling party for deceiving people into believing they do not need free electricity. AAP leaders in Gujarat believe their free electricity campaign will play a significant role in the upcoming polls.

AAP functionaries organised walking, torch, and bicycle rallies in different parts of Gujarat to gain support.
