In the past couple of weeks, there have been rumours of a conspiracy to assassinate former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. Amid this buzz, an employee at Khan’s residence in was caught trying to install a spying device in his bedroom. According to sources, another employee foiled the attempt by alerting the security team about the device.
Upon investigating, it was discovered that the culprit who installed the device was bribed to commit the act. The employee has been arrested. Other sources said that the employee had revealed some other information that has been kept confidential but seems to intensify the threat to Khan. Following this incident, the entire area and other sensitive areas were put on high alert amid the probable threat.
Over the past weeks, many Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members have claimed that Imran Khan’s life is being threatened. They have said that several people have been threatened to obtain information regarding Khan. This attempt to spy is considered one of many such tactics. The party members have said that the government and other relevant agencies have been informed of the situation.
Hassaan Niazi, Imran Khan’s nephew, has stated, “Anything that happens to our leader, Imran Khan, will be seen as an attack on Pakistan.”
