Imran Khan Shot At, Safe

Imran Khan, former Pakistan Prime Minister, got injured today when gunmen fired during one of his rallies. According to local media, shots were fired at the container-mounted-truck carrying Imran Khan in Pakistan’s Punjab province. Imran Khan was leading a protest march to Islamabad to demand snap elections. 

The incident took place during an anti-government protest led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) chief in Islamabad to demand snap elections. Videos showed that Imran Khan was hit in the right leg. Police shifted him to a bullet proof vehicle from the container he was riding at the time of the attack.

The culprit has been arrested as per ground reports. Azhar Mashwani, PTI leader has said that the culprit has been arrested. Faisal Javed, PTI’s Senator and Imran Khan close aide has also sustained injuries during the firing.

Gunshots were heard close to Imran Khan’s reception camp at Allahwala Chowk in Gujranwal. There were reportedly a number of injuries. Imran Khan was wounded in the firing and has been taken to a hospital. The incident occurred when Khan was speaking at a rally. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf cadre were marching towards Islamabad demanding snap elections.
