India Finds 11 Types Of Covid Variants In International Travellers

Eleven Omicron sub-variants were discovered during testing of international travellers between December 24 and January 3, according to official sources on Thursday, and all of these variants had previously been reported in India.

According to them, 124 of the 19,227 international travellers who were tested during the period tested positive for Covid, and all of them were isolated.

However, 124 positive samples, genome sequencing results of 40 were received of which XBB, including XBB.1, was found in 14 samples and BF 7.4.1 in one sample.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has urged citizens not to panic unnecessarily but remain alert and follow the directives issued by the government.

Under the nationwide Vaccination Drive against the Covid-19, the health ministry said that a total of 220.12 crore vaccines doses have been administered so far, of which 61, 828 doses were jabbed in the last 24 hours 

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India saw a slight increase in Covid infections on Thursday as it witnessed 188 cases in the last 24 hours.
