The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday booked Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty in a drug case that is believed to be connected to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. According to sources, several others have also been named here.
The draft charges against the two and several others, whose identities are still unknown, were filed before a special court in Mumbai. The siblings have been charged for consuming narcotics substances as well as obtaining these substances for Shushant. The court is likely to frame charges against all the accused. However, some accused have filed discharge applications and thus might not be charged.
Currently, CBI is investigating the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found hanging at his residence in Bandra on June 14, 2020. Rhea was his girlfriend at the time and was arrested in the case in September 2020.
After that, the Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau also did separate investigations in the case. Rhea, Sushant’s girlfriend at the time, was arrested in the case in September 2020. She was granted bail by the Bombay High Court almost a month later. Showik and several others have also been named in the case. Most of them are out on bail.
