Surat Civil Hospital Under Fire; Stray Dog seen Roaming in Patients’ Wards

| Updated: May 4, 2022 18:29

Civil Hospital of Surat is in the news for all the wrong reasons as a recent video of the wards went viral. The video shows a stray dog roaming around the patients who are laying of beds and floors. The dogs moving around the patients is a serious matter as these animals carry innumerable germs and could transfer some infections onto the patients.

The ward which is shown in the video is on the second floor of the hospital. The relatives of a patient saw the dog and immediately took a video so that they could post it on social media. The video is a proof of the kind of sanitation that the hospital maintains. Surat Civil Hospital, in the past, has claimed that their patients are given complete security, but same is not true about cleanliness and sanitation within the wards.

The patient’s relative who is taking the video tries to chase the dog out but the animal simply goes and hides under the bed. Following several attempts the relatives finally succeed in getting the dog out and away from the ward.

Such carelessness and flimsy security where stray animals can easily invade patients room is a very serious matter. These animals can easily infect the people and the patients health can also deteriorate further. It remains to be seen whether any action will be taken against the responsible persons by the hospital authorities in the coming days for the negligence of the civil hospital system.
