| Updated: July 2, 2022 12:40

The United States of America will aid Ukraine with a new military asset consisting of new surface-to-air missile systems worth $820 million. On Friday, the US announced that the package would also have counter-artillery radars to combat the long-range strikes during the war from Russia. The

Russia has tossed dozens of missiles across Ukraine. The Russian forces have tacked the Ukrainian military, and the country had to seek ammunition from western allies. They have also requested their backers for advanced systems that help bridge the gap between equipment and workforce.

Thus, the US dedicated more than $8.8 billion in ammunition and military training to Ukraine. Further, the leaders of Ukraine asked for help from the western world to deal with the heavily equipped Russia. After the Russian February invasion, the west announced about $7 billion of aid.

Ukraine Must Stand Tall: US POTUS

According to the POTUS, “We will support Ukraine as long as it takes.” He made the statement at a press conference at the NATO summit in Madrid. Further, he argued that Russia is receiving a backlash at its international reputation. It has also harmed its economy from western boycotts post-invasion.

The United States wants Ukraine to stand tall against Russian aggression. Joe Biden said, “I do not know how it will end. But, it will not end with Ukraine losing at the hands of Russia.”

The United States will also purchase NASAMS, a Norwegian-origin anti-craft system used to protect airspace around the White House and Capitol in Washington, for Ukraine. Additionally, the Pentagon will give up to 150,000 rounds of 155-millimetre artillery ammunition. Since August 2021, it will be the 14th package of military weapons and equipment from the US Defense Department to Ukraine.

According to Western officials and analysts, the Russia-Ukraine war has evolved into a deadlock where both nations depend on a heavy military. However, Russia has not succeeded yet in toppling the Ukrainian government. Speculations say that Russia is making slow progress in reducing power in Donbas, the east Ukrainian region.
