Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a meeting with all the chief ministers, lieutenant governors, and administrators of union territories, where the leaders discussed the government’s recently launched ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. During the meeting, Shah instructed the ministers to hoist the Indian flag at their offices and residences from August 13 to 15, as part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations. Besides, the ministers have been asked to instruct their officers and employees to hoist the tricolour at their work and homes.
This campaign aims to rejuvenate the feeling of patriotism among people, who can be engaged in a meaningful initiative. This will also help connect with the youngsters who are the future of the country. Shah said, “In this campaign, more than 100 crore people will be connected across the country who will unfurl the tricolor at their homes from August 13 to 15. It will connect the young generation with the development and security of the country for many years to come. I urge everyone to participate in this campaign full of patriotism.”
Eventually, the campaign is meant to get every household in the country to fly the national flag at their homes and offices. Shah said if both the government and private establishments participate in this initiative, flags could be hoisted at 200 million places. He said. “If all the PSUs of the states, all employees of the states, all employees of cooperative societies join this movement, then we will be able to achieve the target of 200 million very easily.” Shah also urged the citizens to click pictures with the national flag and share it on the website dedicated to this initiative. the website is harghartiranga.com.
