China Gave Pakistan Live Intel During Operation Sindoor, Says Top Indian General

| Updated: July 5, 2025 10:50

Army general Rahul R Singh has revealed that Pakistan received real-time intelligence from China during Operation Sindoor, exposing a coordinated effort against India.

Lieutenant General Singh, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance), said that India faced not just two but three adversaries during the operation—Pakistan, China, and Turkey. “Pakistan was at the front. China was providing all possible support… Turkey also played an important role in providing the type of support it did,” he was quoted as saying at an event.

He elaborated on China’s involvement, stating, “When DGMO-level talks were going on, Pakistan was actually mentioning that we know your important vector is primed, and it is ready for action. I would request you to pull it back. So, they were getting live inputs… from China.”

General Singh said it was not surprising that China was aiding Pakistan, citing data from recent years to underline the scale of Beijing’s involvement. “If you are to look at statistics, in the last five years, 81% of the military hardware that Pakistan is getting is all Chinese… China is able to test its weapons against other weapons, so it’s like a live lab available to them,” he said.

Unleashing a scathing critique of China’s strategy, the general invoked the Thirty-Six Stratagems, a classical Chinese text. Referring to the stratagem “kill with a borrowed knife,” he said, “China, of course, the good old victim, kill by a borrowed knife… He would rather use the neighbour to cause pain than get involved in the mud-slinging match on the Northern Border.”

He also pointed to Turkey’s active support for Pakistan. “Turkey also played an important role,” he said. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif just weeks after the conflict in a clear show of solidarity. Sharif expressed his gratitude, while Erdogan emphasized stronger collaboration in areas such as intelligence sharing and counter-terrorism.

Following the launch of India’s Operation Sindoor, Pakistan unleashed waves of drone attacks across India’s border states. They tried to target Jammu and Kashmir, especially Poonch and Rajouri—bearing the heaviest impact. Over 10 civilians died in J&K and Punjab. India claimed that more than 100 terrorists were neutralised, with precision strikes targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

A ceasefire was declared on May 10, with it later being revealed that Pakistan had reached out for de-escalation 48 hours after the operation began.
